Great introduction to The Skatalites
This is the first Skatalites album I bought, and I think it’s a great way to get into their sound. Now that I know a little more about these amazing musicians, and after hearing most of their classic 60’s records, I find this album their best since their reformation, in the 80’s.
I agree with the last review, these songs are really true to their ska roots, plus you won’t get the poor sound quality of the 60’s recordings. It’s well recorded, now you can in fact hear the bass lines and the terrific job by Lloyd Knibb on the drums. This senior citizen never got the recognition he deserves for inventing the SKA beat, which is the same beat as the reggae beat, the reggae drummers just slowed it down. I was lucky enough to see him play 2 weeks ago, with the reformed Skatalites.
The tracks sung by Doreen Shaffer are the icing on the cake.

It’s what you expect
I ordered this as a Christmas present for a lady friend of mine. I was hesitant due to the price and the fact that it is an Amazon product (I love amazon, but to my knowledge they are not well known for their jewelry). My worries were unfounded. The necklace looks amazing – better than I had hoped for (and it looked quite nice around my friend’s neck). The colors all blend well together and make it a piece of jewelry that would go with just about anything. If I had to pick something to be a negative about this, it would be that I THINK the necklace is all one piece. It did not appear you could remove the chain and put a different chain on (for instance if it broke or if you wanted a thicker chain).

Special Gift
I looked at this necklace several times on line along with others, and I kept going back to this necklace, I wanted a special gift for our daughter’s 40th birthday. Finally I ordered it and it arrived a few days ago. It is lovely, the color combination of the stones and pearls are just beautiful, I am sure she will have many outfits she can wear it with, and hopefully fond memories over the years of a gift from Mom & Dad.

Great for transitioning black hair 4a/4b
I purchased this product about 4 months ago. I am an African-American female with shoulder lenght 4a/4b hair. I am trying to space out my relaxers to every 3-4months. The worse thing about this is the transition in your hair-there is a distinct difference between the relaxed hair and the new growth. Despite the use of relaxer, I have been trying to use natural products. I stumbled onto Aubrey at my grandmother’s health foodstore. This stuff is great. I use the Aubrey (Island Naturals) or Burt Bees shampoo, which can leave my hair a little matted, but as soon as this stuff touches my hair…watch out, it becomes untangled and soft. Initally I left it on for 2-5 minutes while in the shower. Every once in a while, I will leave it on for an hour or 2. Because of the protein (vegetable and milk) I follow this with a Burt Bees moisturizing conditioner. My hair is the bomb! It has a great sheen to it prior to flat ironing. The sheen is even better after the flat iron (w/a HAI-ceramic). I wash my hair 2x/wk. I recommend this for my hair type-thick and nappy.

Very Nice Natural Conditioner
I really like the fact that I can love a conditioner that isn’t made with petrochemicals. I have thin, colored hair (to cover the gray), and use this conditioner daily. It does not weigh my hair down, and it has a nice mild balsam scent. The directions state that you can keep it on longer to use it as a deep conditioner. I have been using this conditioner for a year.

When the doctor asks her to fence his glittering contraband, shes intrigued, and Clitterhouse, known to the hoods only as the Professor, becomes their strategist. Jo is clearly falling for him, while Rocks is visibly jealous of the fastidious strangers rising influence and romantic rivalry.

One five year old twin granddaughter had selected Help!: A Story of Friendship to give to her school library on her birthday. It would no doubt be a good addition to the Obamas library. Who knows, maybe it would be a book that Sarah Palin wanted banned. The list of banned books posted on our library’s door right now includes all the Harry Potter series, which got so so many young people turned onto reading, and a slew of other well written jewels. Hope Holly Keller will keep writing*****

A read-aloud favorite!
My sister gave this book to my four-year-old daughter last year, and it has quickly become one of our favorites. It’s sweet, simple, and endearing, and has a wonderful message. Plus, there is a lot of dialog between the animal characters, which invites the reader to use silly voices, and makes it a fun read-aloud. My daughter shared it with her preschool class one day, and the teacher said it’s become a class favorite as well.

This book is age appropriate, eye catching, and has a wonderful moral! As a teacher, I would say this is a must-buy!
