Great Coffee, Lousy Packaging
I almost lowered the number of stars because of the packaging this coffee comes in You’ve got to be strong as an ox or have a sharp object in your hands if you want to get to the coffee. The foil packages the pods come in are fine – and easy to open too, but the outer box is a bear. I just usually grab hold and pull, tearing the thing from top to bottom. I wish they would simply make the box like most manufacturers do and make the top an easy opening one. I offends my delicate sensibilities to tear the box to shreds so I can get at the goodies inside.

Great Product…Great taste and “Easy to Open” Foil bag (don’t listen to other reviews!) The Bag has a Precut slit on both sides of the foil bag(I love that foil bag!) I protects the flavor and freshness of the pod. I was concerned before I bought the pods because I could not find out if it would fit my Senseo but…now I know!

Very Helpful
We have a son with severe expressive language disorder (apraxia) and this book combines humor and honesty about speech and language disorders. It felt like the author was sitting at my kitchen table drinking a cup of coffee with me and explaining all about my son’s condition. A lot of information about how aggressive you need to get with therapy and what kind of therapy will work best for you and your family.

Get this book
My copy of this book is highlighted, dog eared, and frequently referenced. This book was the first helpful thing I read on APRAXIA outside of medical journals. It’s an easy read with a clear set up and is helpful to any parent of a child with speech or language problems. It also presents many useful ideas and information that I have never seen put all in one place (for instance, ALL the positive treatment methods out there).

It is written in a way that is easy to understand and not full of technical terms that make you fall asleep. I highly recommend this book to anyone whose child is about to enter the speech delayed evaluation process.

A book written especially for parents by a parent.
I have just begun my journey of educating myself more about my son’s speech delay/developmental delay. This was the first book that I purchased and couldn’t put it down. It is so easy to read and understand, not to mention interesting. Since finishing the book, I have moved on to other ones – they just don’t hold my attention. I don’t want a book that you need a degree to read! This book is very informative and gives you very important information. I will definitely use it as a guide/resource for a long time! The author herself has gone through the same issues with her two kids, so she has more perspective and emotion about the topic.

A wonderful book for confused parents
This book is an excellent resource for anyone who has a child with speech and language difficulties. There is an enormous amount of information but it is very well organized, and easy to reference in a hurry. The quotes throughout from parents who have “been there” make you feel like you aren’t alone. It’s very easy to feel overwhelmed when you first get a diagnosis, but this book helps the process of really understanding what you can do to help your child, and the support that is available.

In fact, words like influential, controversial, and much less flattering adjectives are invariably appended to his name. There is no doubt that the first two titles apply, but whether he is deserving of the less flattering adjectives remains for readers of this book to decide. Writings on an Ethical Life collects his thoughts on practical ethics over the last 30 years into a single volume. Singer begins from the premise that the whole point of ethical judgments is to guide practice, which may not seem very remarkable nowadays, but in its day was virtually anathema to academic ethicists, who preferred abstract theorizing to practical moral reasoning.

However, he has probably attracted the most notoriety for his much-maligned writings in defense of abortion rights and certain forms of euthanasia. Ironically, the ferocity of his detractors–particularly during his appointment as DeCamp Professor of Bioethics at Princeton University–has generated nearly unheard-of exposure for an academic philosopher. While a small portion of Singers work has been catapulted into the limelight, lay audiences have often overlooked other equally important ideas–unfortunate, because he is a wonderfully plainspoken and powerful writer: Where so many are in such great need, indulgence in luxury is not morally neutral, and the fact that we have not killed anyone is not enough to make us morally decent citizens of the world. Uncomfortable reading
Singer writes about many subjects which are potentially disturbing to a complacent, wealthy American (such as myself). I found the essays to be a salutary reminder of my effect on the larger world, and refreshingly down-to-earth. These are not academic essays, but journalistic ones which address ethical matters of concern to every political person with a conscience.

Excellent Book with Real Meaning for the World
This book is well thought out and clearly organized in thought. Singer is someone that knows what he is talking about regarding what is really living an Ethical Life. Most people want to pretend he is wrong but sometimes the truth is inconvenient to how we live but it is the truth nonetheless and we become a better world and a better species because of it. If you really want to live an ethical life and feel good when you die about your existence in this world, read this book.

Changing and developing your ideas
Peter Singer divides this book into seperate issues regarding ethics. He addresses issues such as euthanasia, physician-assisted suicide, and infanticide. In discussing these issues he offers a powerful and compelling normative argument that will force you to question your own opinions and will, inevitably, help you to develop your opinions of these issues. It is a well-written and informative book that uses real facts and experiences to back his claims. No matter what, it WILL make you think of yourself and the world in new ways.
