Old School Full Screen Unrated Edition starring Phe Caplan Elisha Cuthbert Katherine Ellis Will Ferrell Patrick Fischler

Why Buy A Old School Full Screen Unrated Edition starring Phe Caplan Elisha Cuthbert Katherine Ellis Will Ferrell Patrick Fischler?
When three thirtysomething friends with woman troubles (Luke Wilson, Will Ferrell, and Vince Vaughn) decide to form a fraternity, its supposedly to save Wilson from losing his house, which the nearby college is trying to claim for academic purposes. But really, Ferrell and Vaughn are desperate to return to the reckless, feckless days of beer bongs and hot chicks, and they drag Wilson along with them as they throw themselves into gathering frat pledges of all ages. Old School could have been just another string of bad jokes hanging on a flimsy plot, but the script and the cast have a jovial energy and just enough grounding in reality–at least, up until the obligatory beat-the-system ending, but by that point youll forgive the excesses of this silly, cheerful, and frequently funny movie. Featuring Jeremy Piven and Juliette Lewis, with cameos by Snoop Dog, Andy Dick, and others. –Bret Fetzer

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHA…
I know several persons in their early 30’s that will tell you that this movie is closer to a true story than you think…A midlife traumatic break up mixed with lots of partying and little self-control.

Once again a movie with one of my favorite people, Will Ferrell. He has a way of stealing every scene that he is in, and this movie is no different. Together with mr “i talk all the time” Vince Vaughn and “i look insecure no matter what” Luke Wilson they are a very good comedic gang. I watched the unrated edition on dvd and of course they have tried to put as many pairs of breasts they can get away with :) But this is a simple and funny movie. Will Ferrel goes streaking through the city, Sean William Scott does a small role as an abusive animal trainer and Snoop does a cameo. All in all i think people will enjoy this movie. Although it is not exceptionally good, it is good enough to have a few laughs and enjoy yourself.

House of Wax (Widescreen Edition) starring Chad Michael Murray, Paris Hilton, Elisha Cuthbert, Brian Van Holt, Jared Padalecki

Why Buy A House of Wax (Widescreen Edition) starring Chad Michael Murray, Paris Hilton, Elisha Cuthbert, Brian Van Holt, Jared Padalecki?
You know the one about the group of horny kids who get offed one by one? Yeah, so do director Jaume Collet-Serra and his screenwriters, who have updated an old Vincent Price flick and sandwiched it between hearty slices of The Blair Witch Project and various Friday the 13th films. Lots of WB and Fox network hotties–including 24s Elisha Cuthbert, One Tree Hills Chad Michael Murray, and, well, Paris Hilton–have car trouble and stumble onto a town populated by real killer personalities. The R-rated result is fairly gruesome and, though no one ever quite looks frightened enough, Collet-Serra knows his way around a jolting suspense sequence or two. Cuthbert and an unintentionally funny Murray (striking ludicrous poses as some kind of real toughie) act more like angry ex-lovers than the fraternal twins theyre supposed to be; Hilton acts bored while her real-life video scandal is exploited for ironic kicks; and the film heads shamelessly over-the-top with each new twist. As an exercise in bloody mayhem, it has a few novel touches, but you can easily find better scares. –Steve Wiecking

Good service
Very pleased with the seller and product. I would buy other products from this seller.

Excellent Service
Disk was brand new, I received it within three days. Very fast and I would do business with them again.

Impressive
I’ve noticed a new trend in the newest horror movies lately where things seem to have gone back to nothing gorey happening until half way through the movie, like they did 20 or 30 years ago. It is like this in House of Wax. I’m not sure whether I like this new development or not but it works with House of Wax.

It starts off with a theme that many other horrors movies have used; a group of teenaged friends have car trouble in the middle of nowhere, half of the friends stay at the car and the other half go to a nearby “deserted” town in search of help.

This is a slasher movie that kills the charactors in origional ways, sometimes involving wax and I was impressed with how gorey this movie was for a fifteen.

Impressive slasher movie with plenty of gore and a good ending. And, come on, who doesnt love it when Paris Hilton gets killed? :P .

House of Wax Blu-Ray
I really enjoyed this movie, kind of a guilty pleasure. The story is decent, the suspense is good, the acting is pretty good considering Paris Hilton is in it. It’s not the scariest movie you have ever seen but its a very well made horror flick. I was very pleased to see that the transition from DVD to Blu-Ray went well. The movie looks great in High Def.

24 - Season Three starring Kiefer Sutherland, Carlos Bernard, Reiko Aylesworth, Dennis Haysbert

Why Buy A 24 – Season Three starring Kiefer Sutherland, Carlos Bernard, Reiko Aylesworth, Dennis Haysbert?
Theres not one cougar to be found in 24s dynamic third season, and thats good news for everyone. After Jack Bauers daughter Kim (Elisha Cuthbert) survived hokey hazards in season 2, shes now a full-time staffer at CTU, the L.A.-based intelligence beehive thats abuzz once again–three years after the events of Day Two–when a vengeful terrorist threatens to release a lethal virus that could wipe out much of the countrys population. Jack (Kiefer Sutherland) attempts to broker a deal for the virus involving drug kingpin Ramon Salazar (Joaquim de Almeida), whose operation Jack successfully infiltrated at high personal cost: to maintain his cover, he got hooked on heroin. That potentially deadly triangle–drug lords, addiction, and bioterrorism on a massive scale–sets the 24-hour clock ticking in a tight, action-packed plot involving a potential traitor in CTUs midst; the return of TVs greatest villainesses in Nina Meyers (Sarah Clarke) and former First Lady Sherry Palmer (Penny Johnson Jerald); a troubled romance between Kim and Jacks new partner Chase (James Badge Dale); and a scandalized reelection campaign by president David Palmer (Dennis Haysbert), who monitors CTU as they struggle to (literally) save the day.

The intricately woven subplots that are 24s greatest strength are masterfully developed here, and character arcs are equally strong, especially among CTU staffers Tony (Carlos Bernard) and his wife Michelle (Reiko Aylesworth); CTU director Ryan Chappelle (Paul Schulze), who is season 2s tragic bargaining chip; and the annoying but well-intentioned Chloe OBrian (Mary Lynn Rajskub), who makes pivotal contributions with by-the-book efficiency. Its 24s superior casting that overcomes the series occasional lapses in credibility, and season 3s twists make marathon viewing a nerve-wracking delight. By the time its all over, 24 once again leaves you gratefully exhausted. As always, Sutherland anchors the series in the role he was born to play. When Jack takes a private moment to release 24 hours worth of near-fatal tension and psychological anguish, Sutherland proves that 24s dramatic priorities are as important as its thriller momentum. DVD extras include behind-the-scenes featurettes (about the prison break sequence, climactic F-18 Hornet air-strike, and real-life bio-weaponry) that pay welcome tribute to the series hard-working crew, who create Emmy-worthy television under pressures as intense as 24 itself. –Jeff Shannon

series 3 of TV show 24
great dvd. really enjoyed it. glad I bought it, along with series 4,and
5. waiting for series 7 to be over, so I can purchase it.

Great
The DVD set was awesome. I have seen season’s one and two so I couldn’t go without seeing season three.

The Horrors Of Biological Terrorism
After watching the first season of 24, I was completely hooked by the political angle. After watching season two, I was inspired by the intensity of lead character Jack Bauer. This season, the third installment, combined both of those factors, making it my favorite 24 hours of the series so far!

Whereas the format of the show is basically the same as its two predecessors, the drama is ratcheted up even further (as hard as that is to believe) with the web of emotions surrounding each character. Whether it be Bauer, daughter Kim, boyfriend/agent Chase, or the entire CTU staff (Almeida, Dessler, Chappelle, and O’Brien), all have character arcs that will have you dying to know what happens next.

The basic premise of the season (although true 24 fans know how much that changes from episode to episode) sees a terrorist threatening to release a deadly biotoxin in Los Angeles, while Bauer and CTU race against the clock to track him down. Every episode is (as usually) filled with new twists and turns at every commercial break, and the subject matter changes so much from beginning to end that you will feel as if you have watched multiple seasons!

Each season of 24 that I have seen (I am currently working my way through them on DVD) has left me with one defining moment. Season One was the treachery of Nina Myers. Season Two was the brutal interrogation that Bauer orchestrates. This season, the moment that really stuck out for me was the (potential) disastrous effects of the biotoxin that is threatened to be released on the city. How much damage is ultimately caused I will not tell you here, but suffice it to say that even just the threat of it will having you rooting for Bauer and his cause more than at any time in the past.

Season 1 of 24 is the best of all the seasons
Season 1 of 24 is the best of all the season, but all of them are great and action packed. 24 season7 was good but they pushed it a little to far for me it got unrealistic.

Awesome.
Spellbinding! Suspenseful, great story line with surprising twists, action-packed, well acted: the whole package. The dvds move from the last frame of one episode to the first of the next without time wasting previews of the prior one. Allow time to watch a few episodes at a sitting since you’ll be eager to get to the next. I’m anxious to get to Season 2.

24 - Season Five (Slim-Pack) starring Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver, Jean Smart, James Morrison (II)

Why Buy A 24 – Season Five (Slim-Pack) starring Kiefer Sutherland, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Kim Raver, Jean Smart, James Morrison (II)?
Arguably the series best season to date, season 5 of 24 literally starts with a bang and never lets up, with an intricate executive-level conspiracy to control Central Asias oil supply. Piling crisis upon crisis in an escalating series of deceptions, twists, and deeply hidden agendas, the day-long ordeal begins with a devastating political assassination connected to a disgraced former CTU agent (Peter Weller) and a radical group of Russian separatists (led by British actor Julian Sands) threatening to release lethal nerve gas in Los Angeles to protest a U.S./Russian treaty about to be signed by President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzin). As Logans unstable wife Martha (Jean Smart), Secret Service agent Aaron Pierce (Glenn Morshower), and chief of staff Mike Novick (Jude Ciccolella) gradually uncover the conspiracy, CTU maverick Jack Bauer (series star Kiefer Sutherland) emerges from self-imposed exile to aid his CTU colleagues in a life-threatening quest for the truth. Meanwhile, CTU chief Bill Buchanan (James Morrison) is thwarted by an inexperienced, overbearing superior (Sean Astin) and an executive takeover of CTU led by Homeland Security chief Karen Hayes (Jayne Atkinson), forcing Bauer and his CTU loyalists to go dark and work independently to honor the memory of a slain friend and leader. Also figuring in are CTUs resident hacker-nerd extraordinaire, Chloe OBrian (played to perfection by Mary Lynn Rajskub), Bauers estranged daughter (Elisha Cuthbert), and his beloved CTU colleague Audrey Raines (Kim Raver).

Pivoting on a declaration of martial law and a mysterious cabal of unnamed conspirators, Day 5 shocked even loyal 24 fans with a high body count including several important supporting characters. It all adds up to an exceptional season that earned Sutherland a well-deserved Emmy (for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series), equally deserving Emmy nominations for Itzin and Sharp, and an Emmy win for co-executive producer Jon Cassars direction of the riveting season premiere. And while the breathtaking twists of 24 dont always hold up to intense scrutiny, these 24 episodes (running about 43 minutes each) are tightly written and flawlessly directed with an involving emphasis on thriller plotting and dramatic focus on the complex and operatically tragic relationship between President Logan and his traumatized wife. Add it all up, and youve got an addictive reason to look forward to season 6. –Jeff Shannon

On the DVDs
Discs 1-6 contain four episodes each, with several episodes including optional viewing of extended or alternate takes of selected scenes. A total of 12 full-length episode commentaries are provided by 24s primary cast and crew, allowing listeners a comprehensive appreciation of the series extended family of talent, along with a wealth of production anecdotes, revealing observations about plotting and character, and a welcome overview of individual personalities and contributions. Disc 7 is packed with features, beginning with a season 6 prequel that offers a tantalizing glimpse of things to come, with an interrogation and escape scenario set seven months after the events of Day 5; by comparison, the season 6 trailer offers little more than a recap of season 5. The featurettes are all well-crafted and worth a look, beginning with a Supporting Players profile of 24s extended cast (including some surprising glimpses of their off-screen hobbies and activities); a detailed documentary about 24s innovative and hard-working camera crew; a profile of music composer Sean Callery, who demonstrates his versatile mood-setting techniques; a detailed exploration of the Presidential Retreat set with production designer Jonathan Hodges and colleagues; a 100th Episode Reel with tightly-edited clips from seasons 1-5; and a sampling of cast and crew photos from 24: Behind the Scenes, a picture book published in November 2006. Kudos to Sparkhill Productions for continuing to provide 24 bonus features as well-made as the series itself. –Jeff Shannon

This is the fifth season. I don’t think I would need to tell much if you already started to watch 24 from season one. You will not regret to purchase this.

24 dvd series
LOVE the series. Amazon is super fast on shipping and product is excellent condition. Thanks!

Excellent season. Highly recommended.
Excellent season with unexpected situations and changes in several characters. Chapters very dynamic with a great performance by Kiefer Sutherland. Highly recommended.

Caution! This Product May Cause Lack of Sleep
My wife and I are big 24 fans. We’ve purchased seasons 1-6 and have watched them all. Sometimes it’s impossible to turn it off. We’ll find ourselves still up at 3 A.M. finishing the last episode of a season. Fortunately we’re both retired and can sleep in. The slim-pack is great as it takes up less room. Of course, as always, shipping and everything else about ordering from Amazon was flawless. We highly recommend 24 to anyone who likes fast paced, action packed stories ripped from today’s headlines.

Back To Its Political Roots
While Season One of 24 focused much of its attention on President David Palmer, Seasons 2-4 saw the Oval Office by and large take a back seat to the missions of Jack Bauer and CTU. However, Season Five brings some of the attention back to the sitting U.S. President (this time Charles Logan) and ends up with a much more well-rounded storyline.

For a basic (non-spoilery) plot summary, a group of Russian terrorists threaten to release canisters of nerve gas in the U.S., leading Bauer to be reprieved from his thought-to-be death in order to help stop the crisis. As CTU begins investigating the terrorism, however, it quickly becomes clear that the terrorists are working with a high-ranking government official, and the conspiracy begins to be unraveled.

To be honest, at first I was skeptical of all the focus on President Logan, as didn’t like his character and wasn’t sure that he could command the camera as well as his predecessor Palmer. However, by the end of the season, Logan is easily the most enjoyable/interesting character on the show. His acting, along with his wife, chief of staff, and head of security, really gives the show the Presidential presence it lacked since that first season.

Of course, there is still more than enough of Jack Bauer and his fellow CTU agents (Audrey Rains, Bill Buchanon, Edgar Stiles, Chloe O’Brien, etc.) to go around, which means that intense drama ensues in every single episode. The writers have an amazing way to take a character that looks like a creep (think Tony Almeida and George Mason in the early seasons) and, by the end of a few episodes, have him become a noble hero, and that tradition continues in this season as well.

The only “knock” I have on this season is that the cliffhanger endings of each episodes aren’t quite as shocking (e.g. Nina Myers doesn’t appear out of nowhere). However, I think that was more of a creative choice by the writers, as the story is actually more coherent that any season besides the first one. Instead of seemingly changing the plot of the show with every episode, Season Five slowly crescendos until the big finale.

So, fans of 24 can purchase this season with confidence knowing that they will still get their action, drama, suspense, and some great twists and turns along the way.
