Lots of fun!
This series may not have the deepest writing or characters, but the plot over the 4-book series is intricate and sustained ingeniously throughout. This is one of the few series I’ve read where the final book is actually satisfying and a great conclusion. It’s a little like Star Wars meets The Terminator, where the protagonists have to fight terrible odds against an evil artificial intelligence which has taken over Earth. Highly recommended!

Poison Sleep
Who knew that sleeping could cause such a mess! Never a dull moment in this book. A definite add to my top 10 list.

pratt has become a new favorite author
In the field of fantasy fiction, littered with copycat ideas, preachiness and mediocre writing, Pratt is an outstanding new contributor. Marla Mason is a fun, original character, as are all the supporting cast. The action and plot developments are fast, amusing, and inventive. The ‘personality’ of the book is upbeat, cheerful, energetic and positive, in a cynical, real world, grown up way. There is nothing depressing or mean-spirited about this author (unlike George Martin, say). and last of all – becoming increasingly rare these days – there is no preachy anti-war or anti-violence message. I’ve read all four books and they are all good (although the latest one spell games, not as good). I really like everything about them.

My favorite of the series — and that’s saying something!
How do I love Marla? Let me count the ways! T. A. Pratt is a genius! He’s given us a female Harry Potter with a wicked tongue and the fighting skills of a ninja. In this book, he explores the unconscious and multi-dimensions and dreams and wow — it’s so well written. It’s amazing that he took on this subject matter — and then executed it with such dexterity! Absolutely BEAUTIFUL!

Oh, and did I mention I LOVE T. A. Pratt!

I loved the book. Lots of lessons to be learned from it. Although it would have been more interesting if the characters were more detailed, I loved the story itself. I only wish the writer wrote more books.
