Can friendships survive gossip?
Holly Keller’s HELP: A STORY OF FRIENDSHIP tells of Mouse and his very different friends who get along well – until Mouse hears from a mutual friend that his snake friend may be dangerous. Can friendships survive gossip? When Mouse is indeed endangered, danger – and rescue – come from unexpected places in this gentle story.

Books for early readers
One five year old twin granddaughter had selected Help!: A Story of Friendship to give to her school library on her birthday. But on that morning she changed her mind and decided to give the school a different choice. It’s a cute story with a wonderful message that rings truer to me than ones from Dora or Hannah Montana. It would no doubt be a good addition to the Obamas library. Who knows, maybe it would be a book that Sarah Palin wanted banned. The list of banned books posted on our library’s door right now includes all the Harry Potter series, which got so so many young people turned onto reading, and a slew of other well written jewels. Hope Holly Keller will keep writing*****

A read-aloud favorite!
My sister gave this book to my four-year-old daughter last year, and it has quickly become one of our favorites. It’s sweet, simple, and endearing, and has a wonderful message. Plus, there is a lot of dialog between the animal characters, which invites the reader to use silly voices, and makes it a fun read-aloud. My daughter shared it with her preschool class one day, and the teacher said it’s become a class favorite as well.

Help! book
This book is age appropriate, eye catching, and has a wonderful moral! As a teacher, I would say this is a must-buy!

kids loved it!
I’m a second grade teacher and luckily I found this book to talk about trust, gossiping and friendship with my children. amazing effect! They even wanted to create a role play based on the book!! We have analyzed it and take it to our personal situations. Great choice. Kids read it once and again. Five stars!!!

Where To Buy Babyland by Holly Chamberlin At The Lowest Price?

Babyland by Holly Chamberlin

Why Buy A Babyland by Holly Chamberlin?
Bestselling author Holly Chamberlins new novel is a smart, funny, moving story about love, marriage and the next big step – not necessarily in that order.

Pink used to be Anna Trauslens favorite color. Just yesterday, she was a fabulous, single, happening thirty-seven year old event planner. Then the stick turned pink. Pink as in positive…as in pregnant…as in pure, unadulterated panic. This wasnt supposed to happen: Shes scheduled to marry the handsome, successful, and very appropriate Ross Davis in six months. Unfortunately, while Ross may not rock her world with kitchen-table sex, his technique worked well enough to put a bun in her thiry-something oven- a fact of which hes surprisingly proud, considering theyd agreed not to start a family.

Now instead of a fabulous rooftop apartment, fabulous clothes, and regular drinks with the girls, all she has is a nasty case of morning sickness; a future mother-in-law whos become obsessed with Rosss Baby; a slew of unsolicited name suggestions for him or her;and a custom designed wedding dress shell soon be too fat to wear. Although shes trying to take some small comfort in the fact that one is never too bloated for a really cute purse, impending motherhood also has her reassessing more than her wardrobe-wondering if thirty-six more weeks is enough time for her to finish growing up.

Excellent empire builder
I actually bought Patrician 3 about a year after I looked it up on the internet. As a fan of strategy games I suppose I was looking for something new to add to my collection. I found it largely by accident while surfing Amazon, did a bit of research on the internet about it. Just reading about it though didn’t really inspire me to buy it. The screenshots didn’t look impressive; the graphics looked too similar to the endless slew of mediocre isometric strategy games of the late 1990s, and the subject….build a trade empire in late 14th century Northern Europe. Uh, didn’t exactly sound riveting.

But about a year later I decided to get it anyway out of curiosity amid a large games buying spree. First impresssions were promising, it had a colourful paper map of Northern Europe included and the manual was attractively presented. Gameplay itself was a bit slow at start….buy some beer at London, sell to Cologne, buy wine at Cologne, sell to London…hey, I made a small profit! It became addictive. I used to play a game called space trading game Elite in the late 1980s, Patrician 3 started to awake those dormant feelings of satisfaction in seeing your profits increase.

Later I began to appreciate the attractive and atmospheric way the game was presented. The soundtrack is excellent (albeit probably more Rennaisance than late medieval soundtrack) and the graphics have touches here and there to invoke a 14th century atmosphere.

But this is more than simply a trading game. Piracy is a large part of the gameplay, whether equipping your ships to ward off attacks of pirates, joining or forming your own convoys, or even deciding on a clandestine career as a pirate yourself. As you increase in wealth, you’ll find many more options are available to you- getting involved in politics, diplomacy and intrigue are all available once your trading empire expands. “Side missions” such as hunting pirates, treasure maps and smuggling are also available at points.

I honestly find it difficult to find fault with this game, except perhaps that once you have a large empire it can get quite difficult to keep track of everything! It can be hard to remember that you’ve told your brewery to stockpile in the warehouse Bremen, while you’ve forgotten that you’re still selling meat in Edinburgh when you should be stockpiling for the upcoming festival. It is possible to automanage to an extent by hiring AI controlled employees, but nevertheless you sometimes feel that you’re juggling too many plates. But that is all part of a good management game.

If you enjoy management/ empire building games of the Ceasar 3 variety then this is a title I can recommend with no hesitation, although it’s probably more biased towards trading than city building. One of the most pleasant gaming surprises I’ve had in years.

Hard to find better!
Maybe not the best graphics ever, but certainly smart and realistic. May keep you interested up to the rest of you life.
For no doubts I’d recommend this RTS game for any age, along with another game from same vendor (Ascaron) – “Port Royale 2″ (this one has really beautiful graphics, but require relatively powerful videocard to show all effects).
These 2 games are really outstanding comparing to all other RTS games I’ve tested.
Cannot say more. Just excellent…

How to Keep Your Teenager Out of Trouble and What to Do if You Cant by Neil I Bernstein – Save 22% Today!

How to Keep Your Teenager Out of Trouble and What to Do if You Cant by Neil I Bernstein

Why Buy A How to Keep Your Teenager Out of Trouble and What to Do if You Cant by Neil I Bernstein?
The teenage years are tough-for kids, and for parents. Many teenagers are grappling with a slew of overwhelming emotions, and the results can range from not wanting to be seen with a parent in public to reckless and destructive behavior that can destroy a family. Parents despair as a child becomes a sullen, defiant stranger.

A clinical psychologist whos spent more than two decades bringing families back from the brink, Dr. Neil I. Bernstein knows how to help parents and teens successfully navigate these difficult and trying years. Thoughtful, clear-eyed, comprehensive, and refreshingly free of jargon, HOW TO KEEP YOUR TEENAGER OUT OF TROUBLE AND WHAT TO DO IF YOU CANT helps parents identify whether their teens are exhibiting typical behavior-such as locking themselves in their room for hours-or are exhibiting real danger signs, such as being secretive, despondent, or constantly angry. And then he tells what to do about it. The focus, above all else, is effective communication: how to avoid threats and put-downs, offer clear explanations, stick with the issues at hand, negotiate, improve listening skills, ask relevant questions, and stop interrogating or lecturing. Throughout, Bernstein uses examples from his practice to tell specifically what to do and say. There is sample dialogue to keep discussions from becoming arguments; signals that parental efforts are actually working; and Skill Builders that give parents the tools they need to ensure their teenagers leave home as responsible, moral adults.

Extremely helpful
I saw Dr. Bernstein on the NBC Katie Couric special on teens and sex a few months ago. I liked the way he provided sound and practical advise on dealing with difficult situations. After reading the book, I felt there really is a way to raise teens effectively without feeling that everything has to be a battle. This book is really true to its title. It offers parents a user friendly approach which is forthright and filled with everyday examples of how to handle challenging situations. I enjoyed reading it and highly recommend it to other parents.

How to Keep Your Teenager Out of Trouble and What to Do If You Can’t
This is a good book. But in some parts it is a decade behind. Our kids and teens are growing up so fast, we can not keep up with the change. This book does have some good hints, helpful ideas and things that will help you to look past the area they are now and where they may be heading.

When you are facing tough choices with your teen…
I stumbled across this book on a sale rack and after thumbing through it, realized it offered more information than the dozen other books on raising teens that I’d read. This is one book that does not pull any punches, and confirms the idea that sometimes parents HAVE tried everything, and still their child is acting in such an extreme manner that the home setting is not the best for either child or parents and siblings. My husband and I had been considering an outside placement for our 16 yr. old son, and this book helped us decide how to proceed, with guidelines on locating a facility best suited to our son’s needs and ours.

If you are looking at exteme, oppositional and defiant behavior, this book will give you the tools to make an informed decision to get your child’s life back on track. Our son is now placed at a therapeutic boarding school relearning the fundamental values of honesty, respect for himself and others, and accountability.

The OK Book
The OK Book is great! I have shared it with my classes at school, and the children love it, too. We are all OK, not perfect, but willing to try our best. Good example for children and a good conversation starter.

Clever book and good for a beginner reader
This is a simple yet clever book using the word OK to be the character and a word and teach a lesson. My son who is in first grade reads it.

Great for my “perfectionist” kiddo!
This book was a wonderful surprise for us. While I hadn’t heard much about it, I thought it could be a helpful book for our four-year-old who lives with Asperger’s Syndrome and has some real perfectionist-driven tendencies, so I ordered it with a slew of other books.

We love to read the simple, powerful text together. And, on his own, our son has begun to draw his own “OK” character when we’re using sidewalk chalk!

I would recommend this book to anyone with a young child, especially a child who can be overly self-critical.

The OK Book
This is a fabulous book for preschoolers–it introduces the letters O and K and gets across the message that you don’t have to be perfect at everything to feel “ok”.
