A Lady at the Table A Concise Contemporary Guide to Table Manners Gentlemanners Book by Bryan Curtis – Save 32% Today!

A Lady at the Table A Concise Contemporary Guide to Table Manners Gentlemanners Book by Bryan Curtis

Why Buy A A Lady at the Table A Concise Contemporary Guide to Table Manners Gentlemanners Book by Bryan Curtis?

A Lady at the Table will give any woman the knowledge she needs to maneuver any dining situation – from a casual meal of fried chicken at her moms house to a seven-course dinner at the finest restaurant in the world. It includes. . .

  • How to set a table
  • How to pronounce more than 100 different food names
  • How to use obscure eating utensils
  • How to perform the Heimlich maneuver
  • How to eat more than 25 foods that are challenging to eat gracefully such as lobster, snails, fried chicken, and pasta.

In a society where more and more people eat with plastic forks and spoons at fast food restaurants, it is still important that a lady know proper dining etiquette. Showing she has little working knowledge of table manners at a lunch meeting or on a job interview over dinner may have an important impact on a womans life.

Like all the books in the GentleManners series, A Lady at the Table is easy to use, non-threatening, and an entertaining read. In addition to containing similar information as A Gentleman at the Table, A Lady at the Table deals with topics that apply uniquely to women such as how to respond when men rise as you leave or approach the table, how to react when a chair is pulled out for you and when it isnt, what to do when a man orders for you, and how to pay the check graciously when you are hosting a man.

Essential for any woman in business
I have read and own Sheryl Shade’s book on table manners and etiquette. I love it. The does and don’ts you won’t get at HBS exist in this book and I would advise any woman in business or any parent whose daughter is graduating from business school to read this book and then live by it.

You will be surprised at how much more respect and attention you will receive by NOT being one of the boys. Trust me it works.

An wonderful primer on table manners
Sheryl Shade does a superior of job of putting together the essentials of table manners, setting of a table, descriptions of glassware, and descriptions of silverware, among many other important facts to know. This book would be ideal for anyone intending to brush up on their table manners. Shade covers informal dining, formal dining, and manners at cocktial parties.

I like that this book is guided towards women in business situations. As often it may be awkward when a woman is leading a business meeting over a meal. She gives clear and concise direction in guiding conversations, what to order to eat easily, and the handling of paying the bill. I feel all of these subjects really answer many of the uncertainties when dining in a business situation.

This book would be a good guide for a recent college graduate. Often job interviews can take place over a meal, and while good tabble manners may not have a job offer result from the, many people have excluded from being hired over their table manners. This is a well put together book that will refine most lady’s table manners and is well worth reading.

Kauai Worm composter
I used this book as second verification information on the best treating of my worm population. Has great advice and different ideas. I have a modular worm station and this book helped with worm advancement thru the stages of vermicomposting.

Just started vermicomposting!!
Excellent book for starting a vermicomposting project, I found the adequate climate specs for common composting species very useful. As well as the “bug visitor” information that will allow you to get an insight of the micro environment that you may decide to create for your invertebrate friends after reading this guide.

Happy vermicomposting, cheers!!

Great Book to start with for Worms
If you ever wanted to get a good start in creating your own vermicompost, then this is a great book to go with. The author’s give you enough information on worms and their environment to get you going. What I like is there is a good amount of scientific information such as genus, order, and species names, but you never feel overwhelmed like you need to be a scientist to understand it.

I didn’t really care for the secon on worm recipes, as I personally had no intention of eating them, and also the authors mention to not build a worm box out of cedar but give you no reason why. I have built many worm bins out of cedar and have had no problems.

I like the sections on dealing with the other inhabitants that will enter your worm box and how to get rid of those that will make the environment unsuitable for your worm population.

If you are look for a book on worms to get started, this is it and well worth the price.

Well done
This book was easy to understand and answered many of my questions regarding my worm farm.

very good escargot soup
Tried the recipe, needed a wee bit more sautee time, still enjoyed the resulting soup.
My measuring cup has CL instead of ML-basically adjusted without seeking conversion tables.

The BEST escargot
These are the best escargot ever. The escargot are not fatty or gritty. Excellent taste and texture.

Superfood
This escargot is the perfect addition to any meal featuring Burgundy Wine. To this date, I have prepared several dishes featuring this particular brand of escargot consisting of:
Patrician Escargot-mushrooms stuffed with Escargot
Parley Pesto Escargot
Escargot with wild rice
Snail Butter to top various seafood dishes with (extremely delicious topped on scallops)
With Escargot consisting of primarily protein and about 10 calories per snail, (until you add butter) it remains a very fulfilling and easily prepared meal. The average cleanup for the cooking endeavor remains at roughly one pot, a spoon, and a food processor in cases such as snail butter or parsley pesto sauce.
